Sharing and Caring Hands is operated by a few paid staff and numerous volunteers and relies solely on donations of time, goods, services and donations from the community it serves. We do not accept Federal, State or United Way assistance, but rely entirely on donations. 

Material Donations

All donated items are given free to the homeless and poor in need. We do not sell any donated item. 

We accept the following donated items :

  • Food - boxed and canned pantry items for our Food Shelf
    • If you are in the food service/restaurant industry and have food donations for our cafeteria/kitchen, please email us at info@sharingandcaringhands.org 
  • Clothing/Shoes - new or gently used items for men, women, children, and babies
    • No used underwear, bras, socks
  • Household Items - new or gently used
    • For the kitchen - pots/pans, dishes, glasses, utensils, small kitchen appliances, towels
    • For the bedroom - bedding, blankets (no used pillows)
    • For the bathroom - towels/washcloths
  • Car Seats (cannot be expired), Strollers, & Diapers/Pull-Ups/Wipes/Formula - larger size diapers are more of a need
  • Toys (no stuffed animals, but clean, unstained beanie babies are accepted) & TVs
  • Personal Hygiene Items - both full size & travel size needed
  • Vehicles to give to a homeless family in need of reliable transportation

We do not accept furniture donations.

Monetary Donations

We are a certified 501(c)(3) charitable organization. All of your donations are 100% tax deductible.

You can support us by:

  • Writing a check - Checks payable to: Sharing and Caring Hands  - Mail to: 525 N 7th Street, Minneapolis MN 55405
  • Signing up for an automated monthly donation


Because of our ongoing needs, we especially appreciate monthly donations in any amount and are thankful to those who include this ministry in their wills, estates and planned giving. Also, if you would like to set up a donation via ACH (checking), modify your donation, or have financial questions, please contact Jennie Albert, Finance Manager, at 612-596-3480 or email jalbert@sharingandcaringhands.org.  

 

In Memory/Honor Donations: Checks made payable to: Sharing and Caring Hands - In Memo write: In Memory/Honor of (Name). Mail to: 525 N 7th Street, Minneapolis MN 55405. Add a note with name/address for an acknowledgment note.


2024 Tax Donation Letters for donations totaling $25 or more received between January 1 and December 31, 2024 will be mailed between January 20-31 of 2025.
